On 22 October, CASVA, Milan’s design archives at Via Isernia 5, hosted the presentation of Design in Italia, the new book by Anty Pansera with Rodolfo Profumo, published by Mondadori Università.

The book traces the history of Italian design from the modern tradition of the applied arts to the first twenty-five years of the twenty-first century. Each object is read as the point at which technique, production, communication and everyday life converge, making the volume an essential reference for students, designers and enthusiasts alike.

Both generations of the studio appear in the book. In the chapter devoted to lighting design, Bruno Gecchelin is included among the designers who worked for iGuzzini, alongside Gio Ponti, Gae Aulenti, Piero Castiglioni and Renzo Piano. The text also recalls his work since 1962 for Olivetti, Fiat, Aermec and many other companies. Lorenzo Gecchelin, who has worked alongside him since 1997, is mentioned among the designers of the new generations for his project for Fratelli Guzzini, awarded the ADI Compasso d’Oro in 2004.
