Studio Gecchelin was funded by Bruno Gecchelin in 1976, is now run with his son Lorenzo, his website is lorenzogecchelin.it
After graduating in architecture he began his profession of designer for Indesit, Busnelli Export and Olivetti in 1962. It was precisely at Olivetti in Ivrea that he met Ettore Sottsass Jr. and worked for about fifteen years acquiring experience in the world of typewriters, calculators, electronic terminals and office furnitures.
He also designed a series of accessories for the Fiat Panda car and dedicated himself to various lines of air conditioning products for Aeremec Riello Group.
Poltrona Frau, Telma Guzzini, Fratelli Guzzini, Rede Guzzini, Matsushita, Ycami and Kelvin Italy are other firms he collaborated with. His passion for technology led him to approach lighting techniques first with O-luce then with Skipper, Arteluce, IGuzzini illuminazione, Antonangeli, Venini, Ycami and more recently with Ivela and Raat.
Prizes and recognitions have marked his design work during these years, among others the Compasso d'Oro in 1988 for the iGuzzini SHUTTLE spotlights, in 1991 for the Riello AGH 171 New heat pump and in 2002 for the Guzzini LATINA juicer.
Technology provides great stimulation for his creativity and this leads to his preference for actions with an elevated technical content and experiences such as furnishing.
